Application
The AX-EX axial fan range is designed for ventilation applications where increased safety or explosion-proof designs are required due to the presence of combustible gasses or materials in the airstream.

AX-EX fans are available in multiple impeller and motor configurations allowing fans to be optimized for the designed operating point of any specific application.

Construction
The casing is made from hot-dip galvanised steel according to ISO 1461 with pre-drilled flanges. The terminal box with IP 65 is mounted outside on the casing.
Impeller
Impellers are constructed of anti-static glass-reinforced plastic or aluminium and include a brass rubbing ring on the case to ensure that the impeller will not generate sparks.
Motor
Motors and glands are certified IECEx models to suit the class and zone specified by the application
Motor protection
The motors can be equipped with PTC thermistors for motor protection (on request).
Control
Motors can be speed controlled by frequency inverter between 10 and 60 Hz.
Installation
AX-EX fans are designed to be mounted in any orientation around the axis when mounted horizontally to align the junction box with a desired position. When mounting fans vertically, then specialist outrigger mounts are required when the motor frame exceeds 132 size.
